Classic Citroën's to Visit Jersey

Around 36 Citroën Traction Avant cars from The Traction Owners Club will be arriving in Jersey on the 10th May from as far afield as Norway to join local owners for a rally over 4 days. The oldest is a 1925 Paris Built Cloverleaf as well as a rare 1932 Paris Built Commerciale Berline Hatchback. The Citroën Traction Avant was extensively used by General Charles De Gaule and also was driven by Inspector Maigret in the TV Series.

During it’s 15 years of construction 750,000 were built, however pre-war models are more difficult to find as they were commandeered by the Germans during the war and occupation of France. Its revolutionary design combined for the first time features that we now accept as normal such as front wheel drive and four wheel hydraulic brakes instead of the normal cable or rod brakes.

These cars will be on display to the general public at The Westhill Hotel on Sunday 14th May from 9am to 12pm alongside a selection of the latest Citroën models from Motor Mall, Jersey's Citroën dealer.

Steve Gladdish, Group Risk & Compliance Director of Jacksons is pleased to welcome the Traction Owners Club to Jersey and sponsor their Gala Dinner. Richard Wagstaffe, General Manager of Motor Mall commented that “We look forward to displaying a selection of our latest Citroën models alongside the pre-war cars and seeing you all on the 14th."
